***MOOSE INTERVIEW OF THE WEEK***
Owen from 2nd Grade!
JCB: What is your favorite thing to do at school?
OC: Read graphic novels in the library. My favorite graphic novel right now is Missile Mouse: Rescue on Tankium3.
JCB: What is your favorite thing to do at home?
OC: Watch Netflix.
JCB: What is your favorite show?
OC: “Dinotrux.”
JCB: What would you like to be when you grow up?
OC: Mission Control Personnel at NASA or maybe I might also run for President, if I can.
JCB: If you were President what would you do first?
OC: I haven’t thought of that. I guess make more good Missile Mouse graphic novels. I also kind of would want them shipped to the White House. I love that series!
JCB: What is your favorite food?
OC: Annie’s Macaroni and Cheese from a box. I like the shells. Mom likes to put peas in the mix and I hate it! I hate vegetables mixed in with good stuff!
JCB: If you could be an animal what animal would you pick?
OC: That’s a tricky one. Probably an octopus. An octopus is a great animal. They can live on land for a while, I think, and they don’t have any bones so they can squeeze into super tiny spaces as big as a penny. And the first letter of an octopus is O and the first letter of my name is O!

Come enjoy a spaghetti meal with all the fixings. Graduating 6th graders will wait tables. There are two seatings, 6:00 and 7:30 pm. Tickets can be purchased through a fifth or sixth grader or through the school office. The M.N. Spear Memorial Library will also be selling tickets. Prices are $8 for adults and $6 for children and seniors. All money raised will be used for the 6th grade field trips. Hope to see you there!
It is 6th grade portfolio season. We are looking for volunteer coaches to help our 6th graders prepare for their portfolio presentations. This is a unique opportunity to learn about the 6th graders and their learning journeys while at Shutesbury Elementary School. The coaching schedule is :

Thurs 6/1 9-11 am
Fri 6/2 9-12 pm
Tues 6/6 9-12 pm

Arts night is coming May 10! Fasten your seat belts because this year we're doing things new and a little bit different!
New! Every student will have a framed piece of their original artwork available for you to purchase just in time for Mother's Day!
New! A locally sourced book fair allowing you to purchase fabulous new books!
It all starts at 6 PM Wednesday night, May 10!
7 - 7:30 PM is the music concert! We will take our seats to hear the beautiful music of our children both with vocals and percussion!
You won't want to miss any of it! See you Wednesday, May 10 for an amazing night of the arts!
Spaghetti Supper Volunteers and Tickets
SES Parent - Spaghetti Supper tickets are now on sale at the front office or the MN Spear Library, or from any 5th or 6th grader. We are also inviting any parents to help with the supper. We still need about a dozen volunteers to help with the Spaghetti Supper on May 12. Our greatest need is during the 7:30 - 9 pm shift, but we could also use a few more folks with the 6-7:30 shift. This is a big tradition for SES 6th graders, and gives parents of younger students a chance to see how it works. If you can help, please contact Kyla Hastie at [email protected], or 413-253-0317.
