Dear Moose,
Hopefully the winter weather this weekend provides a small amount of light and fluffy snow and not many inches of heavy precipitation! I hope you are able to get out and enjoy it!
Thank you to all those who participated and helped facilitate the PTO Soup and Games Night last Friday! Some tasty soup and fun games were a great way to spend a chilly winter evening.
The Shutesbury Community Church dropped off a donation of hats, gloves and scarves for our students! Thank you to the SCC for your generosity!
We do not have school on Monday January 21st in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Also, please remember that the administration from Amherst Regional Public Schools will be at SES on Thursday January 31st at 6:30 PM in the Library to offer information and answer questions about the programs and offerings "down the hill" for Middle and High School.
I have attached a photo of grade 1 enjoying our new "big kid" playground to start your weekend with a smile.

On Friday, January 11th, Loril MoonDream of Medicine Mammals presented a workshop to students in grades 3-6. She shared photographs and stories detailing the work that she and her volunteer staff do to rehabilitate injured and orphaned wildlife. She also shared and taught students about animal bones and antlers found locally and in the southwest. Her presentation was part of SES's Massachusetts Children's Book Award (MCBA) programming and was supported in part by a grant from the Shutesbury Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
