October 10, 2019

Dear Moose,

We had a joke on our whiteboard this week that made lots of people laugh. I decided to share it within the Roadtown to send you all off for the long weekend chuckling...

I had a hen who could count her own eggs. She was a mathemachicken! Ha-ha!

We had a great week at school! The autumn leaves are turning beautiful colors and the crisp air is refreshing and perfect recess-playing temperature! I've been watching as some of the younger students are trying to catch the falling leaves at recess-it is quite a delight.

Also, I wanted to remind everyone that we are asking all school community members to enter and exit the building by using the front entrance only. We want to ensure the safety of all of the students and staff at SES. By everyone utilizing the front door we are able to keep track of who has entered and left. Also, at times, some of our side and rear exit doors don't fully close and latch. We want to ensure a locked building at all times.

Students do not have school on Friday October 11th and Monday the 14th. I hope the long weekend is enjoyable for all!

Please remember that conferences are coming up and there will be additional half days to accommodate this. The dates are always listed on our website and under the "Dates to Remember" in the RTN.

***MOOSE INTERVIEW OF THE WEEK***

Aeyla from 4th Grade

AL

JCB:  What do you like best about school so far?
AL:  I like math and art.  We’re doing some sketching in art and in math we’re doing multiplication.  I also like to do both of those in general.

JCB:  What is your favorite food to eat?
AL:  Empanadas.  I have them homemade all the time because my great-grandma makes them.

JCB:  What do you like to do when you’re at home?
AL:  Art.  Sometimes also reading a book or watching a show or eating.

JCB:  What book are you reading right now?
AL:  It’s this book from the library.  I don’t know what it’s called.  I just started it yesterday.

JCB:  What do you like to do on the playground?
AL:  I normally play in the woods.  Me and my friends make little nests for us.  We play an animal game.

JCB:  What is your favorite book?
AL:  I don’t think I have one because I read a lot of grown up books because I like a lot of them, but I don’t remember what they’re called.

JCB:  What do you want to be when you grow up?
AL:  I have many things I want to be when I grow up.  We see a lot of things and do a lot of things and then me and my mom are like, “ I might want to be that when I grow up.”  Like an artist, musician, a singer, a house realtor and many more.

JCB:  What is your favorite color?
AL: Blue, I like all blues.
