Dear SES Moose,

We all enjoyed the temperatures this week, though it was quite strange to see students wearing shorts on a Wednesday in early March! We began this week on a high note after the thrilling Books in Action party at SES for the 4th-6th graders who read 5 or more MCBA books on Friday night. Students were also treated to a fun afternoon at assembly last Friday. The fourth graders were awarded the “Golden Book” for winning the Battle of the Books and the 6th graders won the Door Decoration competition. Ms. Scott, Ms. Bergmann and Ms. Hermans all received pies to the face by the winning MCBA team. I was “pied” too! Enjoy some pictures below that highlight the fun assembly.

This week the Student Council met and decided on the fun days for Spirit Week. We decided to hold Spirit Week from March 28th- April 1st. I have attached the schedule of days to the Roadtown for your information and planning. The Student Council is very excited for this event. They are currently deciding on how to run a contest for the class with the most school spirit.

The third grade had their second field trip to the Amherst Cinema as part of the See-Hear-Feel Curriculum. They are continuing to work with storytelling through film and images within their classroom.

Next Monday, March 14th is Kindergarten Orientation. There is no school for students in Ms. Birtwell’s class. Incoming Kindergarten students will come at their assigned 9:00 or 12:00 session to enjoy some time in the classroom. Parents/guardians will meet with school personnel in the conference room. We look forward to seeing the students and families at this event.

Don’t forget that Daylight Savings begins on March 13th!

Jackie
