April 8, 2016

Dear Moose Community,

Another busy week has whizzed by! How odd to be calling a snow day in April, after a week with temperatures in the 60’s! It has been wonderful seeing families in the school for conferences and our Spring Book Fair.  Many thanks to our amazing teachers for preparing for meaningful conferences and to Ms. L and her Junior Library Crew for organizing and running the Book Fair.

Field trip season has started. Grades 3 and 4 went to the Pioneer Valley Symphony on Thursday and enjoyed some beautiful music. Grades K-2 will be attending their annual trip to the Quabbin on Monday, April 11th. We are fortunate to have so many great experiences for our students outside of SES.

Next week conferences will continue on Tuesday, April 12 and Wednesday, April 13th. Dismissal for students will be at 1:00 on both days.

Attached to this RTN please find the testing schedules for grades 3-6 for the upcoming state testing window. We did not have any testing in March this year. All testing will take place in late April/early May. If you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected] or by phone at school.

Next week is out last school week before April break! Remember that we do not have school from April 18-22.

Have a great spring weekend,

Jackie

***MOOSE INTERVIEW OF THE WEEK***

Benny from 2nd Grade!

BG

JCB:  What do you like best about our school?
BG:  Math because I like math and I do it a lot.

JCB:  If you could eat one thing, and only one thing, for the rest of your life, what would it be?
BG:  Fruit.  Pears.

JCB:  What’s your favorite thing to do outside of school?
BG:  Make fairy houses in the woods behind my house.  Actually I have a fairy kingdom where there are a bunch of fairy houses built into the trees.  I use snow and things that we find around the woods and the playground.

JCB:  What are you looking forward to in 3rd grade next year?
BG:  Studying more stuff like math and science.  Just more studying.  Homework is usually math so I’m looking forward to that too!
