Dear Moose Community,

HOORAY! The beautiful spring temperatures and weather have finally arrived. Students and staff have loved getting outside and enjoying this blissful weather.

At Town Meeting this past Saturday, our school budget was approved! Also, the applications that were submitted for $29,000 for a new younger student playground and $5,000 for a multi-use tRack in our upper field were supported by the Community Preservation Committee and approved by the town! When the students head back to school in August, they will hopefully be greeted with a new track and safe, fun playground. A very special thank you to all of the volunteers who helped with these applications. Specifically, I want to give a HUGE amount of thanks to Jessica Carlson-Belanger—as she was the head initiator, writer and presenter of this process.  Thank you Jessica!

The wonderful preschool presented a May Day celebration on Wednesday. The students sang, danced, and welcomed May with their families.  A smile was brought to everyone’s face watching this special presentation! Families then shared in some delicious snacks together! Martina even made a May Day cake! Thanks preschool!

***MOOSE INTERVIEW OF THE WEEK***

Joshua and Aila from 6th Grade!

6th

JCB:  So the Spaghetti Dinner is tonight.  What have you done in preparation for it?
AA:  We sold tickets and Matt put up lights in the gym.
JK:  We’ve also talked about it, made posters and talked about how we’ll talk more about it the day of.

JCB:  Is there anything you need to know or learn to be able to be a server at Spaghetti Dinner?
AA: How to write down the order.

JCB:  What about the actual serving?
JK:  Probably give them (diners) a little time.  Wait until they’re done with salad before serving spaghetti.

JCB:  Do you have special guests coming to the dinner?
JK:  Family members and friends.

AA:  Family members and my parents’ friends.

JCB:  What is the Spaghetti Dinner raising money for?
JK:  The Boston field trip!
AA:  To pay for the bus and going there.

JK:  We’re going to MIT to a sciency thing.  We’re doing a scavenger hunt too.

JCB:  Where do we get all of the spaghetti, salad and garlic bread?
JK:  it’s donated.  A lot of people wanted to donate bread, my mom said!

JCB:  How many years have you been looking forward to this?
AA:  Maybe 4 years because 4 years ago Kale (older brother) went and served because he was in 6th grade then.
JK:  Just this year.

JCB:  Will you be going to the Silent Auction afterwards?
AA:  Probably.
JK:  My mom wants to bid on our class’s “Starry Night” oil pastel donation.
