Dear Moose,
It has been so wonderful to see students working with our Artist in Residence, BZ Reilly. This week students met with BZ and our art teacher, Beth. The school community will be co-painting a mural in the 5/6 hallway and will also be painting some ceiling tiles. The hallway was prepped this week and students began painting! They will continue to work with BZ next week. We will have a special official unveiling later this spring at our Arts Night.
This week, grades 5 and 6 went on a science-based field trip to the Hitchcock Center to continue their study about water and water testing. Next week, grades 5 and 6 will travel to the Quabbin to learn about the history of its creation. We are so lucky to be able to support exceptional field trips for our students.
Our Moose on the Move club is quite a success at SES! Please consider joining us tonight at the Shutesbury Athletic Club for a delicious family dinner fundraiser to support our Moose on the Move program at SES. The dinner is from 6:00-8:00 pm and there is a $7.00-$10.00 sliding scale. Hope to see you there!
Have a fabulous weekend!
Jackie
***SCHOOL NEWS***
Hello Shutesbury Moose, I hope you have been having fun in the snow! In all of the grades we have been working carefully with balance, and counterbalance poses. Gymnastics movements demand the highest level of self-control, and self-mastery. We continue to focus on the process rather than product while keeping safety as our number one goal. Our students are bravely accepting more challenging poses by slowly expanding their comfort zones. All movements and obstacles are challenge by choice. At every grade level, students have achieved TRULY REMARKABLE feats within just our first week of practice. Skills of: strength, balance, composure, safe spotting, and peer coaching are shining here in the gymnasium. Now I will let the student's effort and determination speak for itself. Enjoy the Pictures, play often, and stay strong! -Mr. Steven A. Carra
