PTO Meeting, 7:30pm

April 30, 2021

Dear Moose Community,

We had a windy, rainy week! Thank you for remembering to send students to school with raincoats and rainboots. We have our fingers crossed for blue skies and warm spring weather next week. I'd like to remind families of two things:

· Please remember to complete the SYMPTOM CHECKLIST everyday

· The last day of school is June 17th

We have Picture Day on Wednesday, May 5th.  Geskus will be following strict COVID protocols. Students will only remove their masks for the minute it takes to snap the picture. The company will compile the individual pictures together to make class pictures. Forms were sent home this week to order photos. You can also order online at  www.geskusprint.com using unique code R5B3BA2D before May 5.

The PTO is holding a plant sale!  Orders are due by May 4th.  Order HERE

BIG NEWS! Union 28 has decided to hire two school counselors for the 4 Union 28 schools to support our students and school community next year as we attempt to recover from what was lost during our time at home. I am so thrilled to announce that our amazing Office Administrator, Jessica Carlson-Belanger, will be working at SES (and in Leverett!) in this role! Jessica has just completed her graduate work and licensure in school counseling. She knows everything there is to know about our school and all the students and families. She will be able to hit the ground running and support SES in an exciting way. We are so happy she will be able to remain with us in this capacity. This shift means that we have posted for a new Office Administrator for our school. It is a VERY important role and we hope to find a great fit for our school and community as a whole.

Happy May!

Jackie

***SCHOOL NEWS***

Along with a water bottle, sunscreen, hat and bug spray please send extra clothes in with your students.  On these rainy days many kids are needing extra socks and pants.  An extra set of clothes (and a plastic bag) would be very appreciated by your child and the SES staff : )

Thanks to all who have read our handbook and continue to follow the requests regarding pick-ups and drop offs.  We are getting the hang of it!  Timing (see school times listed at the beginning of the Roadtown News), staying in line, not passing other cars, and having students ready to jump out with all of their belongings is really helpful.

ALSO, don’t forget to keep filling out the Symptom Checklist!!
