SHUTESBURY SCHOOL COMMITTEE SUSPENSION AND REPEAL OF POLICIES
The operation of any section of School Committee policies not established by law or contract may be suspended for a specified length of time by a vote of two-thirds of the Committee members present at any legally posted meeting. Any action to suspend policy must be clearly reflected in the minutes of the meeting.
Any section of School Committee policies not established by law or contract may be permanently repealed by votes at two successive meetings by two-thirds of the Committee members present. The voting requirement may not under any circumstances be waived by the Committee. The repeal of a policy may be either raised by motion or placed on the agenda for discussion and a vote. All policy repeals must be included on the posted agenda for the second and final vote. The repeal will be immediately effective unless otherwise voted.
