Daylight Savings Ends, Fall Back!

Dear School Community,

Thank you for your response and questions to our recent survey regarding the learning model for SES going forward. We were able to touch base with every family to get some initial thoughts. The results from the survey was a 60/40 split. 60% of families are possibly interested in a hybrid model and 40% of families prefer to remain remote at this time. SO MANY FAMILIES responded that they go back and forth about this decision and they are not completely sure at this point.  As we mentioned, this is not a final answer response. After the School Committee decides the mode of school going forward, we will re-poll the families and ask for a more final decision. We also plan to have an informational session in early November for families to get more information and clarity.

Some guardians and teachers attended the School Committee meeting last night. Although the School Committee did not vote for the plan going forward, they did listen to the feedback from various stakeholders. I also shared all data and written thoughts from the survey with the committee. I will communicate the date of when the Committee will vote when it has been decided.

Next Thursday (Oct 29th) we are having our first VIRTUAL ASSEMBLY from 11:30-12:00! Mr. Cortina and I will lead the school in some fun songs and activities. We invite all students to wear a Halloween Costume ( or any costume) to the virtual assembly! Students will see each other's costumes, sing some songs with Mr. Cortina and have fun with a game or story. We look forward to seeing everyone there.

Have a great weekend,

Jackie

The Student Directory is a great way to help parents and kids stay connected! My kids use last year's directory to call, Facetime, etc. with their friends. It is very handy!

If you would like your child’s contact information in the Student Directory, you must go to the web site and enter your child’s information. The web address is https://ses-directory.org/

If you have any questions, please contact me by email [email protected] or phone 413-336-1616.
