*Introduction to Tracking - Family Program

Sunday, February 14, 2016            1  - 4 pm

Experience the excitement of tracking animals in the winter woods!  Most mammals remain active throughout the cold weather months.  Knowing how and where to look, we can find evidence of their daily lives and the struggle for survival in the forest.  This program will open your eyes to the web of life around us, revealed by animal tracks in the snow!  It is the perfect introduction to tracking for people of all ages.

Adults as well as children are welcome.  All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

Snowshoes will be required if there is deep snow. (We have a few pairs available for a modest fee).

Program fee:  $25 per person. Call Valerie Wisniewski at 978-544-6083

*A Note from Susie Mosher, Town clerk:

It is easy to see why there is some confusion when people fill out the Annual Street Listing, a blue form every household should have received in January.  More than a state record of voters, it is our town census.  It is an annual effort to record every man, woman, and child that resides in Shutesbury.

The information is used as proof of residency to protect voter rights and veteran status.  It helps our school with enrollment information and projections.  The updated census data is made available to our police chief and fire chief/emergency management director to carry out their public safety responsibilities.  Census information about children under the age of 17 is not made available to the public.

I have noticed many children are not listed on our current census.  Please help us make the Annual Town Census/Street Listing as complete and accurate as possible. If you have any questions, please call the Town Clerk’s office @ 259-1204 or email me: townclerk@shutesbury.  Thank you.

*Shutesbury Firefighter's Association Annual Pancake Breakfast to be held on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016 - From 8am to 10:30am in the Shutesbury Elementary School Cafeteria.
